Album small oblong in-4 (215 x 282 mm), 24 plates, half red morocco with corners, gilt fillets in the frame of the cardboard, smooth spine titled and decorated with gilt fleurons in boxes, marbled paper endpapers (monogram "ECB" in the upper left corner) (V. Champs).
Complete suite of 24 captioned plates (only the first 2 are numbered) lithographed by Villain and coloured, after
Eugène Lami. First edition.
"These plates are, for the most part, curious imitations of Rowlandson's suite Miseries of Human life" (Morgan and Fatout Bulletin, 10433).
