(320 x 261 mm), 263 pp. Black morocco decorated with an oblique mosaic pattern of red listels covering the boards and the smooth spine, gilt title on the first board, gilt edges on witnesses, endpapers in wine-coloured moire, cover and spine, in a folder with a spine titled in black half morocco with stripes and overlapping, case lined with black morocco (binding signed É. Poëncin).
Illustrated edition after François-Louis Schmied including 13 plates out of text, 7 large vignettes, 7 lettering and 3 culs-de-lampe, engraved by Philippe Gonin.
Edition at 160 copies on japon, one of the 30 with a double suite of engravings including 20 in black on vellum and 16 in colours on japon realized and signed by Schmied.
Superb realization of Emile Poëncin in Art Déco style. Mr Poëcin was then the director of Mr Schmied's bookbinding workshop.
