I : Full raspberry jansenist morocco, spine ribbed and titled in gold, interior framed with gilt fillets, mosaic pieces and black morocco listel, double gilt fillet on the edges, green moire endpapers, gilt head, cover and spine preserved. II : half raspberry morocco with corners, black listel borders, spine ribbed with gold titles, marbled paper endpapers, gilt head, cover and spine preserved, slipcase (AD. Lavaux).
Superb edition of the Fleurs du Mal, established by Charles Meunier on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the death of Charles Baudelaire, illustrated with 40 very beautiful original off-text etchings in colours by Lobel-Riche.
Edition of 24 copies, here one of the 12 first copies on Marais vellum with special watermark (n°5), containing in total in the 2 volumes, 5 states of the etchings (colours with remarks, the black state with remarks, an intermediate state with remarks, an intermediate state different from the previous one and the pure etching).
