In-12 (187 x 116 mm), 97 pp. Spine mosaic of grey calf, red and black, boards extended beyond the book's format and composed of deformed plastic pieces painted by Christie Pagiras with yellow, red, pink, mauve, green and black acrylic, boards attached to red painted bolts (a small piece of the clasp removed), paper endpapers, cover and spine, modern yellow and green cloth slipcase titled and dated on the spine (binding signed in pencil [Daniel] Knoderer / [Christie] Pagiras at the justification of the edition with the date "11/[19]85".
First edition, limited edition of 1000 copies on vellum (this one n°541), signed and dated "11/85" on the proof by Knoderer and Pagiras.
Claude Blaizot, ardent defender of contemporary bookbinding, said of Daniel Knoderer that "he had the merit to explode the conventional train of creation of the eighties. He represents an important milestone in the evolution of bookbinding research".
