Paris, Paul Ollendorff, 1895. Small in-8 (200 x 148 mm), 64 pp. Blue demito-cloth, smooth spine decorated and dated, brown morocco title-piece, cover retained, bookmark retained (later binding).
First edition. No large print run for this play first performed in Paris at the Théâtre de l'OEuvre on March 15, 1895. Cover illustrated with a monogrammed lithograph in olive green by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
A fine copy enriched with a L.A.S. from Tristan Bernard, 1 page in-8 in brown ink, dated March 30, on the letterhead of the Hotel Majestic in Cannes: "[...] I came to rest - that is to say to work [...]".
