Edition of this collection widely distributed in the 17th century since its first edition in 1595. The Parnassus poeticus had about twenty-five editions in France between 1609 and 1625.
In the 17th century, verse composition was the central exercise of the rhetoric class, and students relied in particular on this work.
A fine copy in a contemporary binding. Handwritten annotations in brown ink on the title page engraved with a vignette.
