CUP ON FOOT in fruitwood carved with a mythological decoration of the cycle of Neptune and Amphitrite on the body. Baluster shaft with knots resting on a round base, the lid is surmounted by a winged lion supporting a coat of arms. The lid is decorated with carved trophies of arms, laurel frieze, interlacing, and piastres. The body is decorated with river gods in reserves alternating with heads of satyrs. The base is decorated with trophies of musical instruments and miniature landscapes in reserves. Italy or Germany, late 19th century. In the taste of César Bagard (1620-1709)
