[Pierre III, Duke of Holstein-Gottorp, is then Grand Duke| he married in 1745 the woman who would become Catherine II| he ascended the throne on January 5, 1762, only to be assassinated on July 9, the following day, at the age of 34].
He congratulates his cousin the Duke on the birth of his daughter Princess Frédérique-Sophie-Julienne-Caroline (born December 5, 1755), and already dead (January 10, 1756) at the time of writing this letter.
