Appointment of Michel Debré to the direction of R.P.F. [The General, although having long refused to found a party, had declared himself concerned about the international situation and the future of France| he therefore created the Rassemblement du Peuple Français (R.P.F.) in April 1947]. "My dear Debré, I am pleased to inform you that I have appointed you a Member of the Board of Directors of the Rassemblement du Peuple Français." He sends him the decision "which was taken after deliberation by the Governing Council" ... "Decision. Mr. Michel Debré, Senator of the Indre et Loire, is appointed a member of the Governing Council of the Gathering."
An L.S. is attached to General INGOLD, [May 6, 1946], thanking him for his books which "bear witness in a brilliant way to victorious France" (1 p. in-4 on his letterhead, envelope).
