PRINCE GUARDS RING
LARGE SAXON GUARD
IN THE TASTE OF
Wrought-iron basket-type guard with two
rings, one guard branch ending
with a dragon's head and two straight quillons,
all subtly engraved with floral motifs.
Four-sided truncated conical pommel,
rocket covered with a double filigree.
The 14 cm ricasso blade is punched
with a shield with two crossed swords. It
has a cartouche in which it is
inscribed "mefecit saxionia Anton Schuech"
"made in Saxony by Anton Schuech".
Anton Schuech is known to have produced
number of swords for the guard
of the Elector Prince.
