JAPON XIXE SIECLE
Subject in brown lacquered wood, representing the Buddha seated in lalitâsana on a lotus with green and gold lacquered petals, both hands in vitarka mudra (gesture of argumentation), the head nimbed with a lotiform halo.
It rests on a high base with several levels, gold lacquered, carved and openwork of lotus and foliage.
