In-folio, in sheets, uncut. Black cowhide, plates composed of reliefs and hollows in a variation of brown tones reminiscent of the order of the fields in relief, decoration continuing on the smooth spine with a long gilt title, brown buffalo skin lining, grey suede guards, cover and spine, matching cloth shirt and case (Monique Mathieu).
Original edition of this collection of 29 unpublished poems by André Frénaud, entirely mounted on tabs. 16 original slate prints by
Raoul Ubac, including the frontispiece signed in pencil and 12 off-text.
Limited edition of 90 numbered copies, signed by the author and the artist.
One of the 20 copies on Japon Misumi (n° 20), accompanied by a set of 16 prints signed by Ubac on Japon Hodomura.
Each plate of the suite is justified and signed in pencil by ubac.
Copy enriched with a long autograph long consignment signed from Frénaud to Michel
Wittock on the false title, an original etching (marked 'E.A.') signed by Ubac mounted on the head, and two pages in blue ballpoint pen on ruled paper containing autograph poems by Frénaud (La Faille, Accueil, On s'installe [the title will be changed in the printed version to Pour se réchauffer], and two versions of Qui perdure), and a poem, Conjuration. L'Ancien temps (1 p. in ballpoint pen on invitation card from the Centre Georges Pompidou).
Very beautiful copy, bound by Monique Mathieu, the poet's wife.
