Brown calf, carved dishes with ornamented and painted decoration on carved blond calf, a large window in the upper dish contains a view of Angkor (signed 'Théa 1933') and a circular on the lower dish depicts an elephant walking in front of an ancient temple, smooth back decorated and titled in gold, gilt head, gilt inner lace, and marbled paper endpapers, matching marbled paper folder and case (T. Steibel).
Original edition decorated with illustrations by
François de Marliave, a travelling painter of the time.
One of the 965 copies on paper of Rives (n° 127).
Superb illustrations and elegant binding by Steibel. Beautiful copy.
