Original edition. Copy enriched with an autograph letter signed "Émile Zola" (1 pp. in-16) mounted on tabs at the head of the volume, addressed to a stranger: "Would you be so kind as to enclose tomorrow morning with what you are to send us, the packet of gold fringe that my wife has chosen and left at your home on a table".
