LOUIS XIV (1638-1715)

L.S. "Louis", Saint-Germain-en-Laye 27 February 1672, [to Charles-Emmanuel
II, Duke of SAVOIE?]| the letter is written by Toussaint ROSE| 1 page in-4 (mitre mark on the v°).
On the physician Pierre ALLIOT (1610-1685)| first physician of the
Queen, he had treated Anne of Austria for her breast cancer.
"My cousin drinks you more particularly by the letters of my cousin the lady of Gages what makes me surceoir the orders which I had resolved to give for the departure of Alliot. It is a question of a health which is so precious to me that there is only the interest of my health which was able to hold me back. I will wait for the answer to the considerations which have been given to us to satisfy it at once. But I want to hope that before God dispels our fears"...
A letter written and signed "Louis" by his secretary, Paris 29 February 1660, is attached to the same, announcing the death of his uncle Gaston d'Orléans (1 page small in-4, fragment of the address sheet with seals of black wax with arms on purple silk lakes).
