Superintendent of the Queen's Household and devoted friend of Marie-Antoinette, she perished in the prison of La Force during the September massacres

"Thank you for your policy, I find it perfect, and my short story writer has given me great pleasure. [A note on the back indicates that the letter is written "from the pavilion of Flore a few tems before his massacre in 1792.]



A lock of hair is attached, wrapped in a small piece of paper marked "Md la princesse de Lamballe / par la mise de Las Cases attaché à la princesse". Plus a facsimile of Madame Du Barry.
