His wife sent him a letter from Mr. Dukas, with the request for 3000 Swiss francs. Einstein immediately ordered the bank in Oxford to send the money to Mileva. However, he had doubts as to whether it would arrive in his hands in due time. Let her telephone Mr. D. immediately to say that he has given the order and that the money will arrive almost in time. Einstein is in London for eight days to settle some business before returning to "Le Coq", near Ostend. He greets her and Tetel [their son Edward] cordially, and hopes that she will soon be able to leave with him. She shouldn't worry if the money arrives a little late. Mr. Dukas will help her somehow...
On the back, a.s. note. "Adu" from their eldest son Hans Albert stating that he couldn't reach Mr. Dukas on the phone. If the money arrives as she thought it would, they'll cash it when they get back...
