On magnetism.
Mrs. Beaupré has just had a dreadful accident: she has fallen into a trap door of rather great depth. "She broke a few small bones in her wrist, and had the strongest contusions in the whole body.

Mrs. Halotel, who went to see her, spoke to her about magnetism, and she testified that she had the greatest desire to try it, and the hope of obtaining relief. Mrs. Halotel having told her that I will get her someone for the magnetism, she replied that she has the confidence that you would be willing to do this service for her".... He gives instructions to be admitted to her| "the magnetism will do her the greatest good, all the more so as the concussion she has received must have caused a general disturbance in her constitution, and it is essential to re-establish the balance"....
He then evokes curious magnetic phenomena reported by L'Hermès, a journal of animal magnetism. Several members of the commission are convinced, "but magnetism has never had more passionate enemies: and among those who attack it there are some who are not in good faith. Moreover, magnetism can still be persecuted, but it is no longer possible to kill it. You had [made] me hope that you would give some notes for L'Hermès, if you can do yourself a service for the friends of good and humanity"...
