"I thank you and I return to you the book of nature [De la Philosophie de la Nature, ou Traité de morale pour l'espèce humaine tiré de la philosophie et fondé sur la nature, 1770, by DELISLE DE SALES?] It seems to me to be made like her| a mixture of good and evil. Your conversation is not in this case, and since there are evils in nature and in very great number, one of mine is in truth sir to have known you too late. Deign to pass through my cottage again in your travels.
Would you be so kind as to take a very small parcel to
London? When would you allow me to send it? Madame Denis joins all her feelings to mine..."...
