In this work, too, light plays the main role| it passes through the foliage of the trees and is reflected in the small stream of water. The artist manages to make the vegetation of this spring afternoon shine thanks to a technique close to pointillism.
This soothing vision of a lively and sparkling nature was offered by the artist to his soldier friend Fernand Cauchefert, whom he met when he himself was mobilized or when he was a nurse during the First World War. The painting has since remained in the same family.
