PAIR OF MEDICIS VASES in black lacquered sheet metal. Chiselled and gilded bronze ornamentation in a frieze representing on one side two fauns carrying Bacchus as a child languishing on a bed of vine branches, and on the other, three putti in a procession in a chariot. The gadrooned belly is decorated with masks of bearded men. The neck and base are underlined with friezes of water leaves and pearled rows. Counter base in yellow Sienna marble. Empire period
