PENDULE RELIGIEUSE de forme rectangulaire en marqueterie Boulle en premièr

Rectangular RELIGIOUS HANGING in Boulle marquetry in first part of brass, pewter, on a red tortoiseshell background and chased and gilded bronze ornamentation. The upper part inlaid with foliated scrolls, conceals the stamp. It is surmounted by six fire pots and an openwork balustrade. The case is decorated with a frieze of pearled rows and is flanked on either side by columns with Corinthian capitals. The annular brass dial indicating the hours in Roman numerals is mounted on a black velvet plate. It is carried by the god of time, Chronos sitting on a cartouche signed "Nicolas GRIBELIN in Paris". Hands pierced and engraved in gilt bronze. The lower part is finished by four flattened balls. Movement with thread and pendulum of the period. XVIIth century
