PENDULE DITE «RELIGIEUSE» de forme rectangulaire. Bâti de chêne, marqueter

Rectangular shaped HANGING HANGER called "RELIGIOUS". Oak frame, Boulle marquetry in the first part of brass, pewter, on a red tortoiseshell background and chiselled and gilded bronze ornamentation. The upper part inlaid with foliated scrolls, containing the stamp, is surmounted by eight fire pots. The case, decorated with acanthus friezes, is flanked at its four corners by caryatid figures. The lower part ends at the corners with two floral scrolls joined together in a scrap of braided trimmings forming a base, and the brass and white enamel dial shows the hours in Roman numerals. It is signed LENOIR A PARIS. It surmounts the figure of Venus lying on a drapery. Hands pierced and engraved in gilt bronze. The lower part is finished by four flattened balls.
