Two small paintings in colour and gold on silk, depicting two of the five
Dhyanibouddha, Amitabha and Amoghasiddhi, both seated in meditation under the parasol of celestial royalty, on a lotus set on a high hexagonal base with several levels. The two deities are dressed in the dark green kasaya monastic robe decorated with lotus and wave patterns, symbolizing purity and joy.
Amitabha, ruler of the western paradise, has his hands in dhyana mudra, a lotus adorning the lower part of the base.
Amoghasiddhi, representing overcoming envy, has his right hand in abhaya mudra, absence of fear, and his left hand in dhyana mudra, a coral branch decorating his base.
Under the lotus cushions of each painting is the mark "Da Ming Xuande nian zao".
