Touching letter sent to the Duke of Vendôme after the death of the Dauphin Louis (who died in Meudon on April 14, 1711 of smallpox). "Your attachment to moy and the friendship my son has for you makes me doubt your grief and interest in the loss jay's making. Tales about my feelings and about the true desire that I have to give you in every occasion marks of my esteem and affection"... Louis-Joseph Duke of VENDÔME (1654-1712), known as the Grand Vendôme, is the great-grandson of Henri IV-his grandfather Caesar was legitimated very soon after his birth.
