Out of curiosity, I wanted to tell him nothing before telling him to know the real thing, so I closed the windows and made him rub his arm in his bed and he saw a glow similar to that of the phosphorus of Angler. After I had disabused him of the pain he was in, he was told that it was a very natural effect and that he was no more to be feared for his sake than the sparks that come out of cats when they are rubbed on their thorns in the dark. ...I think there are a lot of people who would have something like this happen to them if they looked into it".
