France (?), second half of the 18th century [after 1743]In-folio, 1 f., 92 pp., cursive writing and brown ink on paper in French, 9 engraved plates. Bound in full brown basane, spine with eight nerves cloisonné and fleurné, red leather title-piece, mention on the top cover in black ink "Designed and engraved by Israel Silvestre" (heavy scratches, scratches and lack of material on the covers, flattened caps, blunt corners, split jaws). Dimensions: 420 x 280 mm. Provenance 1. an ex-libris of Albert-Philippe-Charles vicomte van Vaernewyck d'Angest (1762-1841), with his coat of arms Sable with three lions Argent set 2 and 1 and his motto "laet vaeren nydt", signed F. Heÿlbrouck, Belgium. Its name is also reported at the top left of the counterguard. 2. Ex-libris of the Rubempré family from Wallonia and settled in the Somme in Picardy with their arms: Argent three gemels Gules. The family died out with Philippe de Rubempré (1650-1707), the last of the name, Prince of Rubempré and Everberghe, Count of Vert, Vertain and Vertigneul, Lord of Winnezeele and other places, great venerable and butler to the king, chevalier de la Toison d'or, were taken over by his son-in-law Philippe-François de Mérode-Montfort (1669-1742), married to Louise de Rubempré in 1704, who passed on

his title to his descendants.
