The title bears this curious mention Paris, A. Blaizot, Libraire-éditeur, 1910 which suggests that this manuscript is a publishing project that never saw
the light of day.
The manuscript is illustrated by Henri Caruchet with 28 astonishing full-page compositions, mounted on sheets of Japanese paper, one for the cover, 5 frontispieces illustrating the five parts of the collection and 22 full-page
.
These compositions are imbued with symbolism, mixing macabre and religious imagery, the figures standing out for the most part on a field of repeated decorative blooms, typical of the artist's manner.
