Born in 1975, NASTY is a French graffiti artist from Paris. The son of a teacher, he started graffiti and tagging at an early age, in 1988, when he was only 13. Influenced by New York graffiti, he began working in the subway, a playground he wouldn’t leave anytime soon. In the early 1990s, he joined the group Artiste en Cavale (AEC), and together they decided to target the most frequented places to gain visibility. A few years later, the group dissolved, but NASTY and his friend DEALYT decided to continue their journey together. Their works complement each other, though their techniques are completely opposite. One prioritizes color over outlines, while the other works in contrast.

NASTY focuses on simple lettering, particularly developing around the typography of his name, which can be found in various corners of Paris today! The artist plays with colors, shapes, and effects, creating and recreating continuously. He uses sharp, acidic colors, with a particular fondness for fuchsia.

NASTY’s work is widely disseminated thanks to photos of his creations that are taken and shared. One of his most recognized works is the ‘subway maps’ that he enjoys graffitiing. The artist has also participated in several advertising campaigns with major brands such as Burn, Coca Cola, and Mercedes.

Aguttes' STREET ART department was founded in 2011 to meet the growing demand in the art market.
