José Cruz Herrera (1890 - 1972), a Spanish painter studied at the prestigious San Fernando Academy of Madrid, where his talent was quickly recognized. Deeply influenced by his native Andalusia, he often painted women in all their sensuality, whether they were Andalusian or Oriental. In the 1920s, he discovered Morocco, eventually settling there, where he passed away in 1972.
