Dior

The Christian Dior company opened its doors in 1946 in a small private mansion at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris. It was in 1947 that Christian Dior gained recognition with his first collection, quickly dubbed the "New Look." Unlike the styles of the time, Christian Dior offered clothing that emphasized femininity, seduction, happiness, and above all, renewal.

A true couturier, his creations were highly appreciated and very successful. That same year (1947), Christian Dior launched Miss Dior, a women’s perfume that remains a best-seller to this day. Sadly, ten years later, Christian Dior passed away, leaving behind an empire and a distinctive vision of fashion. Yves Saint Laurent was called upon to take over the direction, but he left three years later. Marc Bohan then took control and further developed the brand. His iconic creations include the perfumes Eau Sauvage and Poison. In 1989, Gianfranco Ferré joined the brand and created the iconic Lady Dior bag (1995). In 1990, Christian Dior was acquired by the LVMH group, which aimed to make the company even more prestigious.

John Galliano began working for Dior in 1996, taking the brand in a bold new direction with glamorous and revolutionary designs. Thanks to his creations and advertising campaigns featuring stars like Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron, sales soared. Unfortunately, in 2011, after making anti-Semitic remarks, John Galliano was dismissed from the House. He was succeeded by Raf Simons, who remained for only three years. Today, Dior is without a creative director but is managed by the studio team, whose work appears to be well-received by the public.
