Made of veneered wood with marquetry decoration and fitted with gilded bronze fittings. The upper section, shaped like a gendarme’s cap, is adorned with a central medallion depicting a vestal virgin. The rounded side panels, topped with vases of flowers, are decorated with floral ribbons and are partially fluted. The front, which opens with two panels, reveals an interior with four shelves. The straight apron, decorated with a scalloped panel, opens via a drawer and rests on spindle legs. Louis XVI style . H. 246 x W. 115 x D. 46 (chips to the veneer, routine restoration and wear to the gilding).

LARGE SHOWCASE

En bois de placage à décor marqueté et garnie de bronzes dorés. La partie supérieure en chapeau de gendarme ornée d'un médaillon central à la vestale. Les montants sommés de vases fleuris sont arrondis et ornés de rubans fleuris et en partie cannelés. La façade ouvrant par deux vantaux découvre un intérieur à quatre étagères. La ceinture droite ornée d'un tablier chantourné ouvre par un tiroir et repose sur des pieds en toupie.&nbsp; Style Louis XVI.
