These are the almost complete fossil remains of a large theropod, a carnivorous dinosaur whose more precise identification requires further detailed scientific investigation. A preliminary study has been carried out by two well-known and highly regarded palaeontologists, Dr Pascal Godefroit and Dr Simone Maganuco, and this unique specimen may be said to mark the opening of a new line of research leading to the identification of a new species of Allosaurid or indeed a new genus. Dating from the Kimmeridgian age of the Late Jurassic (which extends from 157 to 152 million years ago) it was found in the rocks of the Morrison Formation. Called Pin
