Rare fauteuil rocking «egg» chair modèle N° 267 en hêtre courbé teinté et assise cannée, probablement réalisé vers 1922 par la «Società Anonima Antonio Volpe» à Udine. Cette même année un catalogue original des créations d'Antonio Volpe a démontré que celui-ci commercialisait un modèle identique sous le numéro 267 sans préciser le designer. Cela a provoqué de nombreuses discussions et controverses quant à la paternité de ce modèle. D'après les archives et documents disponibles il semblerait qu'Antonio Volpe se soit inspiré d'un modèle à succès créé par Joseph Hoffmann quelques années auparavant. Il s'agit d'une variante du rocking-chair chair que l'on présente, la «Sitzmaschine». On retrouve dans les deux cas cette ergonomie aérodynamique qui caractérise ce modèle et qui fait sa gloire depuis de nombreuses années. Up until 1987 the design of this rocking-chair had been attributed to Joseph Hoffmann. However in that same year an original catalogue of Antonio Volpe proved that he had commercialised an identical model under the number 267 without giving the name of the designer. This started a great deal of discussion and controversy as to who was the artist. According to the available documents it seemed that Antoine Volpe had been inspired by a successful model created by Joseph Hoffman some years before.
