Alix AYMÉ (1894-1989)
Bouquet Laque, réhauts d’or et coquille d’oeuf 40 x 40 cm - 15 3/4 x 15 3/4 in. Alix Aymé was born in 1894 in Marseille. Her works can be seen as a meeting point between the style of the Nabis and traditional Vietnamese painting. Traditional Indochinese subjects blend with Western modernity to create a symbiosis that is as perfect as it is sublime. She depicted subjects that touched the intimacy of her models (interior scenes, maternity wards, children at their games...).
