Aston Martin V8 Volante – 1986 French registration title After the success of the DB4, 5 and 6, Aston Martin had to renew itself and change the now legendary lines of its flagship. William Towns’ design took on the difficult task of succeeding the Carrozzeria Touring, offering the world the DBS in 1967. The lines were more angular, and in 1969 the main element changed considerably: the elegant 6-cylinder engine was replaced by a V8! In 1978, the DBS, now the V8, changed its name to the V8 Volante to meet the demands of the American market. Once again, the car was a hit, the styling was a success, and the V8 (especially when coupled with the automatic gearbox) offered a cruising drive that impressed even our friends on the other side of the Atlantic! Our car was one of the first to be fitted with K-Jetronic fuel injection, for easier use and maintenance. It was delivered new to Palm Beach in this elegant shade of Salisbury Blue with a light beige interior and automatic gearbox. It was quickly re-imported by Franco Britannic to France, before passing to its second owner. This collector took care to maintain his V8 directly at the Gaydon factory! The current owner purchased the car from Royal Automobile in December 2005. He never stopped improving the car, first with upholstery work in 2005, then a complete repaint in the original colour in 2015, all at Lecoq (invoices and photos on file). Twenty years, this true enthusiast has driven many kilometres, whether to various events > on the Le Mans circuit or for rallies in the Alps. Today, the car is in fine overall condition, with a slight patina that suits it perfectly! It also runs well, but a regular service will be advisable to get it back on the road properly. Note that the engine number matches that of the chassis, and that the original grille and additional lights are sold with the car. Now presented at a very attractive price, and in fine condition throughout, this V8 Volante with automatic gearbox is just waiting for a new owner to take it out on the open road once again!
