Porsche 911/964 Carrera RS – 1992 French registration title Erratum : Contrary to what is mentioned in the catalogue, the vehicle is sold without contrôle technique. We noted that the car had suffered a rear impact at an unknown time (signs of repairs). March 1991, Geneva Motor Show, it’s a hive of activity at the Porsche stand! The Stuttgart-based brand has just announced the latest addition to the 964 range, with a name that has been lost over the last 20 years: Carrera RS. This road-legal track car features a host of significant improvements: new cylinders and pistons, a lighter flywheel, a new exhaust, shorter gear ratios, and more. The biggest changes to this beast are under the chassis, following a makeover by the Weissach competition department: the ride height has been lowered by 40 mm, the suspension stiffened, magnesium rims, 964 Turbo front brakes and 964 Cup rear brakes, and power steering removed to save weight... In total, 110 kg will be eliminated. Our example was delivered on May 6th, 1992 in this discreet black colour with black leather upholstery. In 1999, the car was registered in the Allier department before arriving in Isère in 2000. Registered as 964 BGF 38, it remained the property of this collector until 2022, when our client became the owner. Today, the car is in good overall condition and has just under 122,800 km on the odometer. Our test drive showed that the car was running normally, demonstrating the continuous and meticulous maintenance carried out by its previous owners. In 2024, a significant amount of work was carried out at Porsche, including changing the filters, replacing the accessory belt, bleeding the clutch system and fitting a PCCM. According to paint thickness measurements, the rear of the car has been repainted, while the front appears to be mostly original paint (measurements available on request). Presented with a reasonable estimate for this model, our example has a documented history and a very complete file of invoices, making it a great purchase for a collector wishing to add the first modern RS to their collection!
