BMW 2000 C – 1968 - Lot 39
BMW 2000 C – 1968
Luxembourg registration title
The BMW 2000 C/CS, produced from 1965 to 1969 by Karmann, inaugurated the line of large BMW coupes. Powered by the 2.0 L M10 engine, it offered 100 bhp in the C version and 120 bhp with Kugelfischer fuel injection in the CS version, reaching speeds of nearly 115 mph. Its styling, with twin rectangular headlights, was divisive, but with 13,700 units produced, it paved the way for the arrival of the legendary E9 (2800 CS, 3.0 CS, CSL.
Our example was delivered in this elegant combination of Chamonix White exterior with navy blue leather and fabric interior.
Today, the car has only 67,300 km on the odometer. It is in very good overall condition, and everything appears to be original! The interior, a true feat of design, is in particularly good condition, both in terms of the upholstery and the wood and plastic elements. Our test drive confirmed that the car was in very good condition despite having been used very little for just over a year. The engine revs smoothly and the automatic transmission is working normally. The BMW 2000 C perfectly represents the transition period at BMW and heralds the arrival of the 3.0L generation. Surviving examples are very rare in France, and this one is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful! BMW enthusiasts, don’t miss out!
