MG TF – 1954 - Lot 33
MG TF – 1954
Belgian registration title
Erratum : Contrary to what is mentioned in the catalogue, the vehicle is sold without contrôle technique.
Only produced for just over a year, the MG TF is one of the rarest British roadsters. In the spring of 1955, after 9,600 units
had been produced, the TF’s career came to an end and it was replaced by the MG A.
This delightful car marked the culmination of the Midget series, both stylistically, with a modernised front end, a more luxurious interior with central instruments and additional controls, and a new 1,466 cc XPEG engine developing 63 bhp at 4,600 rpm, enabling it to reach 140 km/h.
Purchased by its current owner on 21 April 1990 at an auction in Belgium, our MG TF is in simply stunning condition! Sold new in the United States in October 1954, its British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate confirms that it still has its black livery, its delightfully weathered interior and its original engine.
Always perfectly maintained by specialist workshops, its file contains a large number of invoices dating from the 1990s to
the present day, as well as an old registration document from the state of Virginia. Several parts catalogues and its original
owner’s manual are included in the file. Very pleasant to drive, it handles well and is easy to control.
Reliable and easy to maintain thanks to the large number of parts available, the MG TF 1500 is one of the best compromises
between a pre-war-style car and a more modern design.
