Honda NSX « Berard Design » – 1992 - Lot 71
Honda NSX « Berard Design » – 1992 French registration title As a Formula 1 champion, Honda did not have a model in its range that reflected the high technology that the brand displays in the sport. So the NSX (New Sports Experimental) project was born, a high-performance GT capable of chasing after Ferrari and Porsche. The car had to be light, so aluminium was required, and the engine an ultra-light 274 hp V6 that would propel it to 270 kph. The car presented here has a very special story: in October 1992, Mrs C., a young woman in her twenties, won the Lotto and decided to order, among other items, a new Honda NSX from the Vallet dealership in Tours. In October 1996, she decided to give her car a unique treatment. Interested in car customisation and tuning, she called on a designer based in Saint-Etienne who had already produced some unique cars: Bruno Berard. A true goldsmith and master of “made-to-measure” cars, he is always ready to listen to wealthy customers. The car is stripped bare and transformed with a large kit at the customer's request; more than 160,000 francs will be spent to make it unique. The rear lights are from a Ferrari and the indicators are from an RS2. The magnificent Fikse wheels of the time were later replaced by Tramonts. The finished car was exhibited at the 1997 Geneva Motor Show and met with great success in the contemporary motoring press. A few years later, in 2005, the car was sold to a collector in Tours, who never stopped lovingly maintaining it, only occasionally running it. The odometer shows just over 100,000 km and all the logbooks are present. A major service has just been carried out prior to the sale; the car is in perfect working order; the bodywork has never been repainted and still shines in all its glory.
