* Citroën DS 19 – 1958 - Lot 68
* Citroën DS 19 – 1958 Swiss registration title, in temporary importation Delivered new in Switzerland in February 1959 through the official Citroën Geneva to the Langenthal dealership, this example is one of the very first models, still equipped with a 6-volt electrical system. Exceptional in many ways, it has had only one owner and covered just 68,000 km before being stored in a dry garage in the early 1970s. In 2021, a friend of Mr. D. mentioned this car to him. Initially intrigued but not truly interested – given its similarity to his 1957 DS – he nonetheless went to see it. It wasn’t long before he fell under its spell. The car was simply in an outstanding state of preservation! A complete restoration was undertaken: chassis, bodywork, and mechanics, including a fully rebuilt engine (20704561), a reconditioned gearbox, and an overhauled hydraulic system converted to green fluid for enhanced reliability and longevity. The steering and all suspension components were also fully restored. Importantly, all hydraulic and mechanical parts remained original, and all model-specific components from the early DS series are still present. The entire restoration process is documented in a beautiful album with over 1,000 pictures! A true gem, this example retains its completely original interior and now shows just over 69,000 km on the odometer. Currently in its break-in phase, its future owner will have the privilege of driving a car restored with no expense cost, with the sole purpose of preserving one of the rarest and most authentic DS models in existence.
