*Citroën GS 1220 Club – 1972 - Lot 80
*Citroën GS 1220 Club – 1972 Swiss registration title, in temporary importation Between the Ami 6 and even the Ami 8 of 1970 and the DS, there is a big gap in the range. Once again, the answer was a genuine Citroën, innovative, beautiful and original: the GS, star of the Paris Motor Show and voted Car of the Year in 1971! Robert Opron quickly put himself in Flaminio Bertoni’s shoes to respect the brand’s DNA. Flat air-cooled 4-cylinder engine, constant-height hydropneumatic suspension (a first in this segment), highly innovative lines with an excellent Cx and a futuristic dashboard with a drum that scrolls behind a magnifying glass, a handbrake handle cleverly integrated into the dashboard.... It was one of the first Citroëns to make its mark on numerous international markets, with a total production volume of 1,896,742 units! At the time, the 1220 Club was the most upmarket model before the arrival of the Pallas in 1976. White with red fabric, our model was one of the first to feature the first dashboard with a loupe. It was also the most powerful model fitted at the time, with its Weber carburettor and Ducelier ignition. Purchased in 1984 and restored by Mr D. in 1990, the car is completely rust-free. This is a very pleasant car to drive, and one that can be easily integrated into today’s traffic. Sold withits manuals and booklets!
