BMW 850 i – 1991 - Lot 42
BMW 850 i – 1991 Italian registration title Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, the BMW 8 Series (E31) was intended to be the heir to the 6 Series. More advanced in terms of engines, looks and technology, it competed with the Mercedes 560 SEC and the Porsche 928 S4. Shaking up the current codes, the 8 Series is still recognised as one of the most beautiful designs of its time. Of Italian origin, our 850i was sold on 27 March 1991 by the Sa.Mo. Car. dealership in Rome. It had 4 owners in Italy before arriving in France in 2020. It is accompanied by its service booklet and its instruction manual in Italian. It also comes with its certificate of conformity for registration in France. With just 88,500 km on the odometer, the car is in good general condition, with Sterlingsilber Metallic bodywork and well-preserved aluminium wheels. Inside, the blue leather upholstery has a delightful patina and the carpets are in good condition. There’s an electric sunroof and original radio. Only the headliner needs a little attention. Under the bonnet, the 300 hp 5.0-litre M70 V12 engine is mated to a rare 6-speed manual gearbox. This car has been serviced prior to sale. A true icon among the GT cars of the 1990s, this interesting example represents a great opportunity.
