Alpine A 110 1100 FASA – 1970 - Lot 26
Alpine A 110 1100 FASA – 1970 French historic registration title When the Alpine A110 Berlinetta was launched in 1963, Jean Rédélé planned to expand production of his models through exports. To this end, he set up Alpine Engineering in Geneva, Switzerland, to negotiate manufacturing contracts under licence abroad. The first country to take the plunge was Brazil, where 1,500 Alpines were produced until 1966 by Willys Overland do Brazil in Sao Polo, under the name Interlagos. The largest production run was in Spain, where 1,904 cars were built by FASA between 1963 and 1978 at the Valladolid plant. The car shown here was registered in Spain on 2 April 1970 under number B-774941. The car belonged to a single owner near Girona, a town close to Barcelona, and the engine number is 00450. It will remain in the same family until 2020. Today, the little Alpine is in very good condition and is completely original, never run or modified. The paintwork appears to be original and has a magnificent patina with a few cracks. The odometer shows 26,000 km and is, according to its former owners, the original mileage. The old Spanish registration documents are available in the file. The car is in excellent working order and recent work has been carried out since it joined a French collection in 2020, notably on the brakes and tyres, as well as on the upholstery. An overhaul has just been carried out before the car goes on sale. Rare are the Alpines on the market in such remarkable original condition. This car will delight enthusiasts looking for authenticity with a clear history, and it's ready to take to the road, as our test drive will confirm.
