Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF S2 – 1972 - Lot 8
Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF S2 – 1972 French registration title Sold without contrôle technique Derived from the saloon version of the Fulvia, the coupé was presented at the 1965 Geneva Motor Show, before the first Fulvia 1.2 HF for competition appeared in 1966, followed two years later by the Fulvia 1.6 HF. A total of 3,690 examples of the Coupé 1600 HF and HF Lusso were built before production of the Lancia Fulvia HF coupé ceased in January 1973. Our example is a genuine 1.6 HF produced in 1971 and sold new in France on 24 February 1972. It was found before the year 2000 when a certain Mr Chevalier bought it from a Bordeaux winegrower. It was white at the time and had just over 60,000 km on the clock. The bodywork was restored between 2000 and 2002 and repainted red with a black bonnet. In 2009, the engine was completely rebuilt with sharper camshafts, forged pistons, balanced connecting rods, big valves, a lighter flywheel, electronic ignition, taking care to retain the original wiring harness, oil cooler, etc., boosting the engine’s power to 130 hp. At the same time, the car was prepared for rallying with a roll bar and bucket seats, Brantz tripmaster, Terratrip intercom system, ATL tank, long-range headlights, circuit breaker, fire extinguisher and hydraulic handbrake. The car was subsequently sold to a collector in La Manche in 2010, before joining our collection in 2012. Immediately after the purchase, the Solex carburettors were replaced by Weber 45 DCOEs. Since then, the car has undergone regular maintenance, with major expenditure on brakes, fuel pump, ignition, shock absorbers, running gear and heating, as well as on the bodywork to ensure that it looks good and runs smoothly. The buyer will be provided with a comprehensive file containing numerous invoices and photos of the work carried out.
