RARE GALLIC BROOCH - Lot 1
RARE GALLIC BROOCH wrought-iron brooch with long, baluster-shaped handle. The handle is in the shape of a stylized with outstretched arms and legs. ending in four teeth. Celtic art, Middle La Tène (3rd century B.C.). Length: 50 cm (Accidents, restorations) PROVENANCE - Collection of Mr. F. L. M., Munich, acquired by inheritance in the late 1980s. - Pierre Bergé sale, October 10, 2017, lot 285. - French private collection. The characteristic handle of this rare object is particularly similar to that of the anthropomorphic anthropomorphic dagger from Pont-de-Thielle housed in the Musée Archélogique du Laténium in Hauterive-Neuchâtel [inv N° BE-GAMP-9].
