Bugatti Grand Prix Type 51 (R) par Pur Sang – « 1931 » - Lot 55
Bugatti Grand Prix Type 51 (R) par Pur Sang – « 1931 » « The most faithful Bugatti Grand Prix replica, in its most powerful version ! » No registration title Sold without contrôle tecvhnique A replica of the most legendary racing car of all time, the Pur Sang Bugatti which illustrates these pages is offered here in its ultimate Type 51 version, with a 2.3-litre 8-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts and supercharger. Pur Sang is the brainchild of Argentinian enthusiast Jorge Anadon, who couldn't afford an authentic Bugatti, so he decided to build an exact copy from scratch. His car was so successful that he decided to produce a series of them and market them: since then, other copies of legendary models, including Mercedes SSKs, Amilcar C6s and Amilcar 8Cs, have also been produced under the Pur Sang name! This Type 51 was ordered from Pur Sang Establecimiento in December 2001 for $171,000 (invoice attached), and was fitted with lighting and mudguards as optional extras. The car has no serial number and no registration papers. This car will give its future owner a wonderful thrill and the chance to drive the most famous pre-war racing car, for a fraction of the value of an authentic example.
