Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Coupé (W111) – 1964 - Lot 15
Mercedes-Benz 220 SE Coupé (W111) – 1964 German registration title Sold without contrôle technique The 220 SE Coupé was presented at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, a particularly elegant top-of-the-range model, it blends classicism and modernity to perfection; replaced in 1965 by the 250 SE, 14,173 examples were built. Acquired in 2005 by Mr. E., our example was restored a few years ago; the bodywork is a beautiful shade of black, with gleaming chrome, and the bumpers are in good condition, with only a few traces of corrosion on the bodywork and underframes. The comfortable interior is in very good condition, with shiny woodwork and beige leather upholstery that has been partially restored to retain maximum authenticity, and a vintage Blaupunkt radio. Under the hood is a 2.2-liter in-line 6-cylinder injection engine producing 120 hp, renowned for its reliability and sturdiness, and mated to a 4-speed manual gearbox; this car has not been driven much in recent years, so a simple tune-up and check-up will be necessary before taking to the road. This superb coupé can carry four passengers and their luggage in first-rate comfort; its panoramic windscreen and pillarless side windows offer occupants an unobstructed field of vision, a true invitation to travel. “Superb lines designed by Paul Bracq”
