OMEGA Circa 1940 Steel bracelet chronograph Case: round, back with snap closure, signed Dial: two-tone silvered, Arabic numerals, two counters for 30 minutes and seconds, scale and tachometer, signed Movement: mechanical, cal. 28.9CHRO T2, signed Buckle: steel pin buckle, signed Diameter: 32 mm Provenance: by direct descent to the current owner. This watch belonged to a young lieutenant in the French Air Force, who was tragically killed in a flying accident on March 1, 1940, at the age of 23. Since then, the watch has been carefully preserved by his family, along with a piece of the wing from his aircraft (Morane-Saulnier MS-405) and his ceremonial gloves. These items will be handed over to the purchaser, along with two press articles from March 1 and 2, 1940, giving details of the flight accident.
