Founded by Ferdinand A. Lange in Glashütte, Germany, in 1845, A Lange & Söhne has left its mark on the history of watchmaking with exceptional timepieces, most notably those produced for Kaiser Wilhelm II of Prussia.
Established near the city of Dresden, in the Glashütte valley, the factory quickly became a flagship of German watchmaking. Unfortunately, it did not survive the horrors of the Second World War, and its owners were expropriated in 1948 following the invasion of the Soviet army.
With the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989, the determination and courage of the founder's great-grandson, Walter Lange, revived the prestige of this German manufacture, unrivalled in the quality of its movements and exceptional finishing.
In 1994, A. Lange & Söhne unveiled its first collection and launched the Lange 1, which has become an iconic model for all lovers of fine watchmaking. Our more contemporary version takes up this original design: an off-center dial and a large date.
